Lets get started!
Me and Jami (my wife) was talking the other day and somehow we got on the subject of masturbation, Jami proceeded to say that masturbation was a sin according to the Bible, and of course I came back with saying, no and that the Bible does not speak on it directly. I then proceeded to bring up Onan and how he was to sleep with his brothers wife in order for his brother to have offspring. Onan slept with his wife but just as he was about to "spill" he "spilled" it on the ground, upon seeing this the Lord was disappointed and put Onan to death. Now to me that is definitely not the same as masturbation, because obviously masturbation is a one man show, but the thoughts and desires that one has while masturbating is where the sin comes in. I told Jami that there are pastors that make a little joke about it and say "if you can think of a piece of cake while masturbating, then have at it" which obviously we all know wont happen.
As we were talking about this I figured I would bring up condoms and the morning after pill. I told her that I didn't understand how Christians can say they are against the morning after pill, but not against using condoms, and she brought up the fact that the morning after pill kills the sperm and the egg after they have already come together so its like killing a baby. I told her to me that didn't make sense because using a condom is the same as spilling your seed...or... killing the babies. As everyone like to say "it takes 2 to tango" the same goes for babies, its not just the sperm that creates the baby, its also the egg, so to me either way you are killing the baby.
Think about it this way. God created man to multiply on earth, that is why we are to only have sex when we are married so we will only stay with the one woman whom we have had kids with. Now obviously nobody wants a ton of little Andrews running around, but I don't believe that it was Gods plan for us to use condoms or birth control or anything that prevents from having kids. In the end I believe that we are to trust that God will give you a baby when he knows that you are ready and can handle raising a kid, also having kids are suppose to be a blessing. Think about in the old testament, most of them had so many kids you have to read two pages of names, thats because their offspring was a blessing, they wanted lots of children so their name would always be around. I believe thats how we should look at it. KIDS ARE A BLESSING. It should not be in our control when we have kids, we shouldn't say, "I'll have them when im ready" we should be saying "God will bless us when he knows we are ready".
